It's
not too late to register for the I Spy Lincoln
bike tour, sponsored by the Lincoln Boy Scouts
of America Troop 1102. Come out to the
YMCA-Odd Fellows gym, 721 Wyatt St., on
Saturday to register and begin the tour. All
three well-marked routes will take you through
the flat to rolling historic lands of Logan
County. You will have the opportunity to ride
where Abraham Lincoln once walked.
|
| Choose
your own adventure from 15-, 30- or 62-mile
routes. Rest stops will be available on the
30- and 62-mile routes, complete with snacks,
fruit and drinks. The 62-mile route will take
you through Lincoln, Broadwell, Elkhart and
Mount Pulaski.
Tour riders will have the opportunity to
spy Lincoln along the routes, and the riders
who see the most sites will become eligible
for a prize drawing.
In addition to the bike tour, Safe Kids
Logan County will provide a free bike rodeo
and bike registration from 1 to 3 p.m., so
bring those young riders out to learn bike
safety.
Boy Scout Troop 1102 will serve breakfast,
lunch and dinner meals as a fundraiser.
Breakfast, beginning at 6 a.m., includes
biscuits and gravy, coffee, and milk. Lunch
will include turkey or ham sandwiches, fruit,
chips, and drink. Pre-purchased lunches will
be available at a rest stop midway through the
62-mile route. Dinner will be a hamburger or
pork sandwich, river fries, and drink.
