MOUNT PULASKI -- Harold C. Mann, 84, of Mount Pulaski, died
Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at 6:37 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. His
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with
Dr. James Lillie officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mr. Mann was a Farm Service petroleum salesman for 38
years.
He was a U.S. Navy Air Corps veteran of World War II and
served on the USS Saginaw Bay in the South Pacific, flying
over 200 missions.
He was born Oct. 3, 1920, to George and Emma Strampp Mann.
He married Lucille Camel in Lincoln on Feb. 11, 1944. She died
June 7, 1973.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda McQuillan of Decatur
and Cindy Mann of Springfield; two granddaughters, Kathy (and
Curt) Cisco of Springfield and Jennifer (and Bob) Salmon of
Springfield; and four great-grandchildren, Jesse, Bobby, Jacob
and Jenna.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur, and
one grandson.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, VFW Post 777
and American Legion Post 447, all in Mount Pulaski.
Memorials may be made to Parkinson's disease research or
St. John's Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Irene J. Davis, 79, of Mount Pulaski, died
Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at 8:45 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran
Church in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller
officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker for her family.
She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Mount Pulaski Township to
Arthur and Ella Alwerdt Marten. She married Mayford L. Davis
in Mount Pulaski on Oct. 3, 1943. He died June 5, 2003.
She is survived by one daughter, Bette (and Larry) Steffens
of Lincoln; two sons, Dale (and Solange) Davis of Illiopolis
and Darrel (and Darla) Davis of Lincoln; nine grandchildren
and three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one
brother, Dwain (and Leatha) Marten of Chesnut.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski
and the sewing circle at the church. She was also a member of
the Farm Bureau Women's Committee and Chester Home Bureau.
She was a 4-H leader for 25 years and co-superintendent at
4-H shows at the Logan County Fair.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski EMS or Mount Pulaski
Zion Lutheran School.
