MOUNT
PULASKI -- Dallas K. Stratton, 83, of Mount
Pulaski died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at 8:56 a.m.
at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski, with J.T. Thomason officiating.
Visitation will be 11:30-1:30 p.m. at the
funeral home. |

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Military rites will be conducted by Mount
Pulaski American Legion Post 447. Mr. Stratton
was a union plumber and pipe fitter out of
Springfield Local 137 for 50 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1946. He
was a member of the 101st Airborne Division and
served in the battles of Normandy, northern
France, Ardennes, Rhineland and central Europe.
He was born June 26, 1925, in Mount Pulaski
to John and Emma Kinert Stratton. He married
Donna Jean Bowles in Mount Pulaski on Jan. 17,
1948.
He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski;
one daughter, Sandra (and Steven) Wilson of
Lincoln; one granddaughter, DeAnn (and Joel)
Vinson of Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, Gage
and Josh Vinson of Lincoln; three nephews,
Larry, Ronnie and Randy Bowles; and one niece,
Janet Naugle. |
He was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian
Church, Mount Pulaski American Legion Post 447
and Mount Pulaski Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski
Christian Church, Disabled American Veterans or
a charity of the donor's choice.
