Elsie
Marie Lee, 88, of Normal, formerly of New
Holland, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at 1:58
a.m. at Manor Care Nursing Home in Normal.
Her funeral will be at noon Monday at Peasley
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Francis
Gallagher officiating. Visitation will be from
10 a.m. until the service time at the funeral
home. |

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Lee and her husband farmed near New Holland
from 1948 until 1970. She was also an elementary
teacher in Tazewell and Logan counties, retiring
in 1983.
She was born Jan.17, 1919, in Green Valley,
to Russell G. and Florence Alexander Nichols.
She married P. Vincent Lee in Elkhart in 1942.
He preceded her in death in 1991.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her son, Paul V. (and
wife Peggy) Lee of Elkhart; three grandchildren,
David V. Lee of Boulder City, Nev., Katherine
(and Mike) Strickland of Fort Collins, Colo.,
and Megan (and Matt) Strange of Avondale, Ariz.;
and one sister, Helen (and Bill) Duncanson of
Pekin.
She was also preceded in death by two
brothers. |
She graduated from Green Valley High School
and Illinois State University in Normal.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart
Association.
