[March 08, 2007 ]  SPRINGFIELD -- Treba E. Armstrong, 84, of Springfield, formerly of Chestnut, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at 10:22 p.m. at St. John's Hospital.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Jeremy Thomason officiating.

 

Burial will be in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut.

Mrs. Armstrong was a homemaker, worked at Stetson China Factory, was employed by the Department of Revenue for 13 years and co-owned Armstrong Transfer Trucking Company for 15 years.

She was born July 17, 1922, in Chestnut to John and Bertha Higdon Maus. She married Harold K. "Squeak" Armstrong in Indianapolis, Ind., on Nov. 28, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1976.

She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Luster of Lincoln and Diana Armstrong of Springfield; one son, Lynnwood (and Laurie) Armstrong of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Sabrina (and Derek) Persico of Plainfield, Steven Luster of Atchison, Kan., Matthew Armstrong of Lincoln and Megan Armstrong of Lincoln; and one great-grandchild, Lanham Hebert of Plainfield.

She was also preceded in death by one brother.

She was of the Christian faith.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
