Emerson Brooks Horn, 89, of Mount Pulaski, died at 10:25 P.M.
Monday, March 22, 2006 at St. John's Hospice, Springfield

                     Mount Pulaski

Funeral:  10:30 A.M., Friday March 26, at Zion Lutheran Church, Mount Pulaski.
     
     He was born Aug. 29, 1916, in Mount Pulaski, the son of Frank D. and Lillie Epting Horn.  He married Esther M. Werth in 1943.  Survivors include his lovely wife of 63 years, Esther; brother Dean; and two sons, Edwin Horn of Streator and Kevin Horn of Mount Pulaski.  Another brother, "Preach", passed away 4 years ago.
     Emerson graduated from Mount Pulaski Township HS in 1934.  He was a self-employed contractor in Mount Pulaski and served as director of the Mount Pulaski water and sewer department from 1967-73.  He served as Mount Pulaski Alderman from 1957-67 and from 1983-85.  
     He was a member of Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church, Illinois Rural Water Association and Illinois Society of Potable Water Operators and a charter member of the Illinois Rural Water Association.  Emerson was a licensed Rural Water Operator, attending meetings and conferences in his field throughout the mid-west for many years.  He was instrumental in the purchase & placement of the present Mount Pulaski water tower.
