MOUNT PULASKI -- William Lacy Hawk, 83, of Mount Pulaski, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 9:55 p.m. at his home. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Veal Chapel, Steenbergen Cemetery, with Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Mr. Hawk was a retired farmer, and he retired from Local 965 in Springfield, where he worked as an operating engineer. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran. He was born June 30, 1922, at Lake Fork to David and Estella Erisman Hawk. He married Phyllis Scheuler Howe on April 12, 1974, in Springfield. He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; one daughter, Deana Ann (and Duane) Dingman of Latham; two stepdaughters, Cheryl (and Douglas) Davis of Cornland and Susie (and David) Gee of Mount Pulaski; two sons, David H. Hawk of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Daniel W. (and Traci) Hawk of Latham; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One brother, Edward Hawk, and one sister, Doris Davis, preceded him in death. He was a life member of Operating Engineers Local 965, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Decatur and Mount Pulaski American Legion Post 447. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 447 or to the Latham Fire Department. |
