MOUNT PULASKI -- Leslie H. "Red" Braun, 87, of Mount Pulaski died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at 6:50 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Tom Cruikshank officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mr. Braun was a farmer and had been employed at Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Lincoln.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Herman and Augusta Schottschnieder Braun. He married Martha L. Marques at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski on Jan. 9, 1947. She died Sept. 22, 2005.

He is survived by one son, Leslie A (and Diane) Braun of Upper Marlboro, Md.; one daughter, Vickie (and Dale) Crosier of Maroa; and four grandchildren, Christopher Braun of Denver, Colo., Brad (and Dawn) Braun of Annapolis, Md., Beth (and Eric) Augenstein of High Ridge, Mo., and Sara Crosier of St. Louis, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Lester, Elmer and Harvey; and two sisters, Ethel and Ruth.

He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Forsyth and the Mount Pulaski American Legion Post 447, where he served as commander and adjutant.

Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Forsyth.
