MOUNT PULASKI -- Ernest C. Billington, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at 9:25 p.m. at Heritage Manor in Springfield. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Jeremy Thomason will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery, Atlanta. Mr. Billington was a retired farmer and had worked at Lehn and Fink in Lincoln for 15 years. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was born July 10, 1916, at Cisne to Charles J. and Anna V. Trago Billington. He married Louise Long in Bloomington on Jan. 6, 1943. He is survived by his wife; three sons, James E. (and Annette) Billington of Lincoln, Robert L. (and Vickie) Billington of Creve Coeur and Ronald W. (and Donna) Billington of Bellevue, Neb.; two sisters, Doris (and William) Morris of Lincoln and Neona (and David) Myrick of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church. Memorials may be made to the building fund at his church.
