The 2015 Photo of the Year is actually three photos. Pictures taken in succession tell a story, real or imagined. In this sequence, the real story is that this sweet little girl was slightly intimidated by the man in red. The imagined story is much more complex. In the fictional scenario, Santa has checked the list of good little girls, and he didn't find her name. This was very upsetting to the child as she knew she had been particularly good all year long. However, when Santa checked again because we all know he does "check twice" he found her name right where it should be. With the assurance that Santa would be coming on Christmas Eve, the tears subsided, and happiness once again reigned! The photos were taken at the Mount Pulaski Courthouse on Saturday, December 5, 2015,

Nov. 23, 2015 New HeraldNews:  – Mother Nature certainly did her part to have Vinegar Hill looking like Christmas on Saturday, with snow falling on Mt. Pulaski from morning till early afternoon. A steady stream of shoppers made their way in and out of the various stops, picking up holiday decorations and gifts of all sorts. With a broad range of craftspeople, candy and bake sales, and home shopping vendors at multiple locations, there truly was something for everyone somewhere. In the middle of it all, the Courthouse welcomed visitors with pine boughs and other period decorations and hot apple cider.

July 21, 2015 – The Logan County Board is scheduled to vote on Relight Capital’s Meridien wind farm project at tonight’s meeting. At last Thursday’s workshop meeting, the full Board heard public testimony on the project. While more people turned out to tell the Board they were in favor of the project than had spoken at any of the Zoning Board of Appeals meetings, the remarks were still 3:2 against the project.  <-- click above for more

14 July, 2015 LDN: An aerial view of Logan County fields and flood waters

14 July, 2015 LDN:Thousands of acres of Logan County farm fields have been impacted by recent rains. Here in line with Lincoln Lakes a few miles south of Lincoln, Salt Creek has repeatedly breached its banks. Not all of the field flooding is related to streams. Heavy rains have led to debris blocking drainage, flooding roadways and keeping soils saturated. Throughout the county fields are showing signs of stress with patchy shades of green, indicating an anticipated reduced yield, and some acres have been long lost.
